Surprise presents

Mommy’s friend Amy dropped off some toys that Violet wanted our Hannah to have last night.  Hannah was thrilled to get all of these new dolls and toys to play with, to the point she started begging “more presents! more presents!”

Bilingual baby

One of the nice things about Hannah’s daycare is that she’s getting a bilingual education. What’s funny though is when Hannah decides to converse in Spanish.

She rarely asks for water – just agua. And when she’s done with something? ‘No más!’ Of course her most frequently used word is sapo, or toad, for her froggy toys.

It’ll be interesting to see what else she picks up as the years go on.

Parent/Teacher Conference

Yesterday, we had our first parent/teacher conference about Hannah. Her daycare instructors have been observing her for development milestones like social interaction, motor skills, and language skills.

Hannah is developmentally ahead of her age in speech and motor skills. They noted that she’s a little chatterbox and is very agile in her movements.

Where Hannah needs improvement is not freaking out when she’s corrected on her behavior. When she is told not to do something she wants, she tends to throw herself down on the ground and scream/cry — in other words, she’s a toddler!

She will be transitioning to Pre-K2 sometime this spring, but is already well ahead of the game!

Potty time

Hannah’s been showing interest in potty training but didn’t seem to get it. She would wet her diaper and then say she wants to potty.

Well tonight, she said “I wanna potty” then proceeded to sit on her training potty and go – twice! Then she enjoyed flushing and washing her hands.

Mommy and Daddy did not see this coming, but we hope this the first of many successful potty breaks!
